Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus Week 21

Jenny Matlock

This is a themed writing meme.
You can use UP to 100 words (not including the prompt) to tell your story. You cannot use pictures to illustrate your story. It can be fact or fiction. The only restrictions is the prompt must be left intact WHICH MEANS you cannot split up the words in the prompt. You have the entire week to link your work to the meme and you can link more than one story if you like.
Please display link button or just a hyper-link back to Saturday Centus. Be careful to link your SC URL to the Linky and not just link to your main blog. I would suggest that since these are so short, if you can't think of a title just use your blog name as the title in the Linky. Try to visit each one because there are some amazing writers participating in this meme. Since the links are so short they are also a fun and quick read. Please e-mail me directly with ???'s or ask your question in a comment and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. On Wednesday of this week one of our regular Centurions is celebrating a birthday! I'm not sure how old he is but I suspect it's 39! So the prompt this week is in honor of Tom Goette's Birthday (let me know when yours is and I'll be sure to make you fidget as well!)
Happy Birthday, Tom! This prompt's for you!

WEEK 21 PROMPT

He never dreamed when he blew out the candles on his cake...

------

This is my SC-text for week 21:
(Scroll down to fins a Swedish translation of this text./Gå längst ner till inläggets slut för att hitta en svensköversättning av veckans text.)

Now was the time for cake and song in this very musical family. The lights were  dimmed and the cake candles lit.  He had written a funny text on a 3x5-card, but he knew the words by heart. Everyone had finished singing 'Happy Birthday' and now it was his turn. He never dreamed when he blew out the candles on his cake and was ready to sing, that the sound that would come out of his mouth would be like a crow croaking!
'My voice!' he cried in falsetto. Tears ran down his ruddy cheeks and dropped onto the icing of the cake with its still smoking thirteen candles.

Best wishes,
Anna

Using wordcalc my text has 98 words. Thank you for the link, Jackie, of The way of the upright is a highway...!

Using wordcalc my Swedish text has 100 words.

A is for Ambition - Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday - Round 2- A

Photo Copyright Christina Wigren

Today is Thursday and we begin a new round, Round 2 of Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday. This week's letter is A. My A-word is Ambition:

A is for Ambition

Ambition. The wish to ascend.
Making others shiver, creep and sink.
Bigger. Let no one you offend.
In any case, you ought to think,
To what end you aim your desire?
Is it to be those you admire?
Or something else that you require?
Not insight? What then, you aquire?

Today, I am not feeling that ambitious, but I do wish everyone who visits here a wonderful week!

J is for Jewellery - Mrs. Denise Nebitt's ABC-Wednesday - J

Today is Wednesday and time to link with Mrs. Denise Nesbitt's ABC-Wednesday. This week's letter i 'J'. My J - word is 'JEWELLERY', not too surprising, since that is the main theme of this blog. Here is my feeble hand at poetry (or 'porridge-poetry' ='grötrim').

------
'J is for Jewellery'

J is for Jewellery, the main subject of my page,

It is most often used by women, of almost any age,
Comes in any colour, shape or size for your needs,
Made to please the wearer, even though it's only beads.

Jewellery-making calms my nerves and removes my fear,
So soothing is the stringing of beads for neck, arm or ear,
I like making objects with which you can adorn,
Small works of art, that also can be worn.

Thank you for visiting.
Best wishes,
Anna

WEEK 20 PROMPT

"This is never going to come out," she thought as she scrubbed at the spot on the worn carpet.

This link will be live until next Saturday morning around 7 am. And please, remember to link to your SC URL...not your main blog. If you are unsure how to do this please leave me a message in the comments or e-mail me and I'll help you through it! Have fun!

This is my SC text:
(Scroll all the way down to the end for a special Swedish version of this text. Fortsätt längst ner för att läsa en svensköversätting av den här texten.
)

"She doesn't like dogs. Keep Max in the bedroom", John warned before leaving to fetch his grandmother, who raised him. She was going to meet Sarah.

After the first introductions, John opened a bottle, filled three glasses and was about to open his mouth to propose a toast, when a Dachshund suddenly jumped up on old Mrs. Rolf's lap, licking her square in the face. She froze spilling the wine on Sarah's carpet. The rest of the meal was icey, until John took his grandmother home, leaving Sarah alone with the cleaning.
"This is never going to come out," she thought as she scrubbed at the spot on the worn carpet. Max came and licked her face.

------
Here is a special Swedish version for Tina of Life is Good and anyone else living outside of Sweden, who can read Swedish: All vowels that have an umlaut have an extra 'e' after them in this text. The letter 'a' that has a ring over it is simply dubbled. I normally don't do this on my Swedish Language blogs, that are read by people in Sweden, because my readers there all have Swedish letters on their computers. This is a special 'export'-text.

Best wishes,

Anna

My Favourite Blacks

Today is Thursday and time to link up with Mrs. Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday Rainbow Summer School.

We have already covered all of the rainbow colours. This week we do one last colour before resuming with a new journey through the letters of the alphabet. My Rainbow Mystery colour is black. Here are some of my favourite blacks. My mostly black cats, Sara and Cajsa:

Black is a popular colour for jewellery. Here are some pieces of my black jewellery with some gold-colour mixed in:

I also make the same pattern, just the other way around, gold with a few touches of black:

Some memories are remembered in tones of black and white - Here are some old photos that I have already shown on a post for French Obsession:

I is for Insecure - Mrs. Denise Nesbitt's ABC-Wednesday Round 7 - I

This is what I looked like when
was about five or six years old.
------
I am participating in Mrs. Denise Nesbitt's inspirational and popular alphabet-theme-challenge, ABC-Wednesday, Round 7. This week's letter is 'I'. My choice of H-word is 'Insecure', one of many I-words that are on the negative side of life.

'Today, I'm feeling insecure,
What to write? I'm not quite sure.
What to do, or where to go,
Does someone love me? I don't know!'

Many negative words begin with 'I'.
'Indecision', 'insecure', 'introvert' (which means shy).
'Just go ahead and do it! ' I tell myself, this way.
And look, I did! I wrote a post today!

(Hooray!)

Thanks for visiting!
Best wishes,
Anna

Just Listed: Golden-Yellow-Brown Bracelet - Mellow Yellow Monday #86

I've just listed this bracelet in my Esty shop 'parltradet':

I made a matching necklace too. But I haven't decided whether or not to list it too. What do you prefer just a bracelet, or both a bracelet and a necklace?

Best wishes,
Anna
